Six new universities and colleges are joining the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence (IC CAE) program that aims to boost the intel workforce and recruit future intelligence professionals.

The National Science Foundation has awarded new CyberCorps Scholarships for Service (SFS) totaling nearly $15 million to four public universities with the aim of boosting the cybersecurity workforces at Federal, state, local, and Tribal government organizations.

While the United States is home to more than half of the top universities in the world, there is more work to be done when it comes to artificial intelligence education – and that’s something NVIDIA is trying to improve. According to U.S. News & World Report, only 10% of the top global AI universities are in the United States.

The cybersecurity field is facing a persistent workforce shortage, and educating young people about the importance of cybersecurity and its career opportunities is one way that Bridget Bean, the executive director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), is aiming to help solve it.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has appointed Manny Barreras as cabinet secretary of the Department of Information Technology (DoIT), effective Sept. 9.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has implemented a final rule that establishes repayment standards for the agency’s CyberCorps Scholarship-for-Service recipients who fail to fulfill the program’s requirements.

The Biden-Harris administration unveiled its long-awaited National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy (NCWES) today, securing commitments from 37 stakeholders – like the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – to increase the number of Americans in “good-paying, middle-class” cyber jobs.
