Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech) introduced a new service catalog just before the holiday break that aims to make it easier for customers to access the solutions they need in the new year.

WaTech operates Washington state’s core technology services – the central network and data center – and provides strategic and comprehensive information security to protect state networks from growing cyber threats.

The new catalog, released on Dec. 11 and developed with input from six partner agencies, focuses on five key principles to enhance user experience and operational efficiency:

  • A customer-centered design created with input from six partner agencies of varying sizes to ensure services are clear and accessible.
  • Collaboration across silos with services integrated to provide a seamless experience.
  • An efficiency-first approach focused on delivering modern, time-saving solutions with improved results.
  • Cost transparency with simplified rate structures and bundled services for easier understanding.
  • Clear navigation with streamlined business services and detailed technical information available as needed.

The updated catalog simplifies WaTech’s offerings by consolidating more than 70 technical services into 13 streamlined business services, making it easier for customers to explore. Technical details will still be available within each service description for those seeking more in-depth information.

To assist with the rollout, WaTech will release instructional videos and presentations at upcoming governance meetings. These resources are designed to help customers navigate the catalog and address any questions they may have.
